The Geishas of Japan were once seen as living, breathing works of Art. Tell me, then - as an artist, why shouldn't I have the right to make, of myself, a moving piece of Art, as well? Who is to tell me that I can't be the Art as well as the artist; the creation as well as the creator?
No one.
Artists are breeds all to themselves, and each one is unique; but no matter what race of artist they belong to, they hold within themselves the power and the right to use their Art in their own way. They become the vessel for that which inhabits them.
I am a Surrealist, and in many cases, we are those who not only practice our art, but find that it is much more. For me, this is a mindset; it is a lifestyle, and it is something that took me over from a very early age, while growing up with my Mother's Salvador Dali prints framed around the house. My Father gave me the "Art gene", my Mother gave me Dali, and everything else has steadily fallen into place since then. I came from a land of melting clocks, where swans can be elephants, and it has been the imagery that I have carried with me from that point onward. My world has been shaped by Art - especially, Surrealism - and I live within the gnarled shadow of its dripping wings as a lifer to the benevolent infection I was born with, and the ink that runs through my blood.
I am an artist. This is my condition.
OTHER SNIPPETS:
-My nickname is Barn Owl, and I am quite proud of it.
-I am a proud Pagan of 3 years; leaning towards Shamanic practices, but wanting to learn as much as I can about EVERY path.
-I'm in a relationship with the boy of my dreams. <3
-I'm 17, and heading into my senior year in high school; after which, I will be moving back to my real home in western Washington.
- I am on a real-life quest to get a ball-and-joint doll. If this means that I somehow learn to make my own instead of trying to save the hundreds of dollars it would take to buy one online, so be it. If anyone has tips, please contact me.
